Wade Julius Daniel

Wade Julius Daniel Despite declining health recently, Wade Julius Daniel, 62, lived a very full and happy life until he passed away on Monday, January 13, 2020. Wade had a fulfilling career in management as he was Transco Railroad manager for 34 years, Advanced Disposal Manager for 2 years and most recently City Manager of Homerville. Wade prided himself in being honest and fair with his fellow co-workers. He was a member and deacon of the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church.  Wade enjoyed golfing and was very proud of hitting a hole in one on his first golf trip.  He also enjoyed the peaceful solitude of fishing. Together Wade and Karla enjoyed supporting their children and grandchildren in all activities they were involved in. He was a diehard Bama fan and enjoyed every game with his sons. He was preceded in death by his father: Julius Daniel; grandparents: Leland & Margaret Booth and LeRoy & Becky Daniel. Wade is survived by his sweetheart of 41 years Karla Griffis Daniel; two sons and daughters-in-law: Ryan & Tina Daniel and Chase & Brooklyn Daniel, all of Homerville; his pride and joy were his four grandchildren: Grayson, Braelyn, Cathryn and Nora, who affectionaly called him their “Cookie”. Wade is also survived by his mother: Belva Booth Daniel, Manor; one brother and sister-in-law: Gary & Darlene Daniel, Manor; his mother-in-law: Sybil Guess, Homerville; sister-in-law: Kristi Dickerson, Homerville; special care giver, Angie Shelton; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Daniel will be held Thursday, January 16, 2020 at four o’clock from the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 6 till 8 p.m. at the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church. Sympathy maybe expressed by signing the online registry at www.roundtreefuneralhome.net. Roundtree Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
