Tyler Wayne Metts

Jan 15, 1999 — Aug 4, 2026

Tyler Wayne Metts, 27, of Monticello, Florida, passed away on August 4, 2026. Born on January 15, 1999, in Gainesville, Florida. Tyler was a 2018 graduate of CCHS. He spent the past few years working at Crowder Excavating, where he was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to lend a hand. He was proudly preparing to pursue a career in the United States military, a goal he was excited about and determined to achieve.

Tyler’s greatest joy in life was his family, especially his two sons, Cooper and Tate Metts, whom he loved with all his heart. He was a devoted son, father, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend; whose love and laughter touched everyone who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Amy Metts (Josh); his siblings, Dalton (Savannah) Murray, Austin (Rylee) Murray, and Machayla Murray; his beloved sons, Cooper and Tate Metts; his maternal grandparents, Wayne and Betrinda Metts; his uncles and aunts, Kevin Metts, Kristy (Tyler) Crowder, M’Lynn (Phillip) Giddens, and Kari Burnett (Charles); and his cousins, Davin Metts, Alyssa, Anna, and Gus Giddens, Jace and Reid Crowder, and Jacob Burnett, along with many other relatives and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Tyler was preceded in death by countless beloved family members who held a special place in his heart.

Tyler had a personality that was larger than life. He loved music, playing the guitar, singing karaoke, dancing, racing, mudding, spending time on the river, and making memories with the people he loved. He was always ready for a good time and never missed an opportunity to make someone laugh. His smile could light up an entire room, and his generous heart led him to help anyone in need—he truly would have given the shirt off his back. Tyler shared a special bond with his Nanny and Papa, whom he loved dearly.

Though his time here was far too short, Tyler leaves behind a lifetime of memories and an immeasurable legacy of love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

And as Tyler would say.. GO DAWGS!!!!
