Stephen Wayne Nettles

Stephen Wayne Nettles, 76, of Homerville passed away Thursday morning, August 6, 2026, at Riverbrook Nursing Home after a short illness. He was born in Folkston, GA to the late James Lee “Jimmy” Nettles, Sr. and Alma Julia Vinson Nettles. Mr. Nettles lived in Folkston most of his life where he owned and operated Nettles Tire. He always enjoyed painting, drawing, reading and was a music lover.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Sandra Kay Nettles.

Survivors include three children, Tanya Nettles Jones (Kevin Johnson) of Folkston, Steve Nettles (Shannon Mizell) of Homerville, and Amber Nettles Cape (Phillip) of Henderson, Nevada; sixteen grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jamie Nettles (Glenda) of Folkston; five sisters, Darlene Williamson of Folkston, Beulah Conner of Nashville, GA, Crystal Lloyd (Charles) of Folkston, Jewel Chancey (Charles) of Folkston, and Stephanie Nettles of Atlanta; his step-mother, Connie Tyo of Folkston; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 11 am at the chapel of Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home in Folkston.

The family will receive friends from 10 am until 11 am at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home in Folkston.
