Sherry Colburn Watson

Sherry Jean Cribbs Colburn Watson, 72, of Fargo passed away Sunday morning, April 16, 2023, at her residence after a short illness. She was born in Homerville to the late Hance and Nezzie Melton Cribbs and lived in Fargo all of her life. Mrs. Watson was a 1968 graduate of Clinch County High School and was a homemaker and babysat a lot of children over the years. She was saved on April 3, 1959, and was a member of Fargo Evangelistic Church ever since and was the longest surviving member. Mrs. Watson enjoyed working in her flowers, loved to thrift shop, and was very sentimental in keeping things from her grandchildren and the children she babysat.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roland Colburn; three sisters, Margie Vanilla Harris, Annette Cribbs, and Rev. Sarah Cribbs Deese; one step grandson, Cameron Corbitt.

Survivors include her husband, David Watson of Fargo; one son, Roland Scott Colburn of Fargo; three step children, Bridgett Lloyd (Anthony) of Waycross, Beverly “Sissy” Watson of Fargo, and Benjamin Watson of Waycross; four grandchildren, Christopher Lance Colburn of Fruitland, Macy Elizabeth Colburn Geaua of Bainbridge, Montana Elise Colburn of Fargo, and Cheyene Johns of Waycross and a very special grandchild, Chelsea Wheeler of Homerville; two great-grandchildren, Adaacy and Tyson; eight step grandchildren: Brooklyn Burch (Dustin), K.J. Infinger (Carlie), Danny "Bubba" Corbitt (Kalissa), Hunter Watson, Brandon Watson, Jaylin Watson, Caide Watson, Marla Griffis and ten step great grandchildren; one sister, Vera Henderson of Needmore; one brother, Jimmy Cribbs (Frances) of Waycross; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 pm at Fargo Evangelistic Church. Burial will follow in Wayfare Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home.

The family requests Nana’s Kids that she babysat to serve as Honorary Pallbearers and should meet at the church by 1:40 pm Wednesday for the service.
