Sarah Nell Thomas Trawick

Sarah Nell Thomas Trawick, 102, of Homerville passed away Monday morning, February 6, 2023, at Clinch Memorial Hospital after a short illness. She was a resident of River Brook Care Center. She was born in Clinch County to the late Jackson and Ella Rosa Lee Corbitt.

Sarah Nell served as Probate Judge for 24 years from 1952 to 1976 until her retirement. She was the oldest member at First Baptist Church and in the past was very faithful to attend, serving in many positions. She loved the Lord and never wanted to miss going to church.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Johnny Thomas, and second husband, Martin Trawick. Five brothers, Alex, George, R.L., Wesley and Oden Corbitt; two sisters, Willie Mae Griffin and Ella Haroldson.

Survivors include children, Patsy Montgomery (David) of Brandon, FL, Mary Ellen Millis of Montgomery, AL, and Marty Trawick (Reba) of Mayo, FL; six grandchildren, Julie Davis (Darren) of Riverview, FL, David Montgomery, Jr. (Jena) of Homerville, Matt Trawick (Pam) of Mayo, FL, Sara Ward (Nick) of Mayo, FL, Lee Trawick (Lorin) of Mayo, FL, and Emily Jarrett (Chris) of Montgomery, AL; twelve great-grandchildren, Tommy, James, and Clay Montgomery, Alyssa, Katie, and Kristin Davis, Nicholas Whitmier, Jackson and Tyler Ward, Harper and Irelynn Trawick, and Samuel Pittman. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Sarah Nell will be Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 2 pm at the First Baptist Church in Homerville. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1 pm on Saturday.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Homerville.
