Sandra Chauncey Whigan

Sandra Chauncey Whigam, 78, of Lizella passed away peacefully at her home on Monday evening, June 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving children and husband. 

She was born in Fernandina, FL to the late Calvin and Dorothy Chauncey and lived in many places in Georgia throughout her life. 

She was a devoted wife, loving mother and the best grandma in the world. 

She is survived by her husband, Griggs Whigam of Lizella; two sons, Kerry Whigam of Lizella and Shane Whigam (wife Leah) of Suwanee; one brother, John Chauncey (wife Karen) of Homerville; five grandchildren, Ian Whigam, Griggs Whigam, Shelby Whigam, Myles Whigam and Brooks Whigam; two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Saturday morning, June 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Homerville Free Will Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Homerville Free Will Baptist Church sanctuary.
