Robert Lee McClaine, 82, of Homerville passed away Monday evening (December 27, 2021) at his residence after a short illness. He was born in Homerville to the late Willis Lee and Adeline Griffis McClaine and lived here most of his life. Mr. McClaine served in the United States Navy for almost twenty years and worked at Standard Container/Brockway for twenty years. Mr. McClaine also worked at Georgia Pacific/Gilman Paper Company, Cady Bag Company, and the US Postal Service. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Mr. McClaine always enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, fishing, and especially gardening. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Lora Nell Newsome and Ruth Burriss; two brothers, William (Bill) McClaine and Joseph M. “Mack “ McClaine. Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Imogene Shaw McClaine of Homerville; two daughters, Terri R. Brown (husband Les) of Homerville and Lynn McClaine of Homerville; five grandchildren Madison Teston, Dallas Teston, Landen Brown, Cody Brown, Chazy Peebles (Sean), three great-grandchildren, Karliegh Peebles, Brantley Peebles, and Bentley Sours; one brother, James Ivie McClaine of Dupont, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon, December 30, 2021, at 2 pm at Trinity Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 1 pm until 1:45 pm at the church.
