Rev. Jimmy McMillan, Sr.
Rev. Jimmy Charles McMillan, Sr., 71, of Douglas passed away early Saturday morning, Oct. 1, 2022, at Coffee Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born in Nashville, GA to the late Charles and Othelle Parr McMillan. Rev. McMillan was a graduate of Valdosta State University. He lived in Homerville many years where he raised his family and served on the Clinch County Board of Education. Rev. McMillan was a minister and served St. Illa Baptist Church in Douglas, Edith Baptist Church in Fargo, and Glory Church in Alapaha.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer McMillan Cooper.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Marilyn Claire Griffis McMillan of Douglas; two sons, John Jacob McMillan of Douglas, Jimmy Charles McMillan, Jr. (wife Rachel) of Brunswick; three grandchildren, Callie Claire Cooper, Lee Blaine Cooper, Jr., Maisie Claire McMillan; one brother, Barry McMillan (wife Angela) of Nashville, GA; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Monday morning, October 3, 2022, at 11 am at Edith Baptist Church in Fargo. Burial will follow in Fargo Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10 am Monday morning at the church.
