Phil Register

Herbert Phillip “Phil” Register, 71, of Dupont passed away Thursday morning (Sept. 16, 2021) at Pruitt Health Holly Hill after a short illness. He was born in Homerville to the late Herbert Edward and Alva Lee Giddens Register. Mr. Register was a 1967 graduate of Clinch County High School. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Mr. Register was a graduate of Valdosta State College with a degree in History and also studied Biology. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a Rural Carrier. Mr. Register was an avid amateur Astronomer.

He is survived by four siblings, Phyllis Register of Dupont, Martin Register of Dupont, John Register and his wife Amy of Auburn, AL, Carla Register Mabrey and her husband John of Atlanta; three nephews, Dillon Mabrey of Atlanta, Kyler Register and Langford Register of Auburn, AL; four nieces, Kenzie Mabrey of Austin, TX, McKenna Johnson of Atlanta, Tessa Register of Minneapolis, MN, and Catherine Johnson of Atlanta.

Due to Covid-19 a private graveside service will be held Saturday at North Cemetery.
