Nell Swearingen Powell Dix

Mrs. Nell Swearingen Powell Dix, 80, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020, in the Tift Regional Medical Center, Tifton, GA, following a short illness.

Mrs. Dix was born, November 30, 1939, in Argyle, GA to the late Forest Swearingen and Mae Johnson Snellgrove. She was a retired manager of Pepi’s Food Mart and had worked as a caregiver for Cypress Pond. She was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband: Bill Dix, two brothers: Frank Thomas and Fred Swearingen and two sisters: Sadie Smith and Ernestine Rayboene.

Survivors are two daughters and a son-in-law: Betty Rowell, Tifton and Gail & Austin Conner, Davenport, FL; two granddaughters, six great grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Graveside services for Mrs. Dix will be held Thursday, May 28, 2020 at eleven o’clock in the Shiloh Church Cemetery.
