Melvin O. Lane

January 8, 1945 — September 7, 2021

Melvin Otis Lane, 76, of Fargo passed away Tuesday (Sept. 7, 2021) at Clinch Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in St. George, GA to the late Charlie Otis and Pencie Lee Smith Lane and lived in Fargo most of his life. Mr. Lane worked in the logging industry as a truck driver and logger for many years.  He was a member of Higher Heights Christian Fellowship.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtice Nelson Lane; one granddaughter, Creasie Cribbs.

Survivors include one daughter, Karen Cribbs (husband Lamar) of Perry, Fl; one son, Jeffrey Lane (wife Tina) of Fargo, GA; four grandchildren, Mikaila Croft (husband Jonathan) of Live Oak, FL, Taylor Coody (husband Jared) of Lake Park, GA, Jacob Lane of Fargo, and Bailey Rowan of Fargo; two great grandchildren, Lane Coody and Adallen Croft; one brother, Mickey Lane (wife Joyce) of Homerville; three sisters, Linda Ewing of St. Mary’s, GA, Carolyn Lane of Homerville, Margaret Barber of Valdosta,; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A graveside service will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 pm at Fargo Memorial Cemetery.
