Melissa Corbitt White, 50, of Homerville passed away Sunday afternoon, March 3, 2024, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta after a short illness. She was born in Homerville and lived here all of her life. Melissa was a member of New Vision Church of God, loved fishing, and especially loved watching any sports her daughter was playing.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Bennie White, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Jada Cheyenne White of Homerville; parents, Leonard and Doris Gilbert Corbitt of Homerville; her significant other of twenty-one years, Bobby John Davis of Homerville; sister, Tammy Crosby (Tim Richardson) of Homerville; two nieces, Paige Wildes (Lane) of Brantley County, and Macey Kinlaw (LaGregory) of Homerville; four nephews, Avery Crosby (Allie), Tre Richardson (Jaime), Tim Richardson, Jr. (Marlee), and Trent Richardson (Morgan) all of Homerville; several other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Thursday morning, March 7, 2024, at 11 am at New Vision Church of God. Burial will follow in North Cemetery in DuPont.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home.
