Mary Alice Walker

Mrs. Mary Alice Smith Edenfield Padgett Selph Walker, 86, passed away Friday morning, Dec. 22, 2023, at her daughters residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Walker was born April 2, 1937, in Homerville, GA to the late, Gordon Arthur Smith, Sr. and Helen Marie McLain Smith Tucker. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Shiloh Church, and attended Place of Blessings Church of God where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, Raymond Padgett and Bo Walker.

Survivors are one daughter, Lajuanta Mattox, husband Lee, Homerville; three sons: James Daryall Edenfield, wife Kathy, Brumfield, CO, Dan Arthur Edenfield, Homerville and John Leland Edenfield, Jr, wife, Kim, Homerville; one step daughter, Delilah Le Arnold, Statenvlle; one brother: Gordon Arthur Smith, Jr. wife Julia, Savannah, GA; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, a niece and nephew, and several other relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Walker will be held Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023 at three o’clock at the Place of Blessing Church of God, Argyle. Burial will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery, Homerville.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023 from 2 till 3 p.m. at the church.
