Martha Jane Rowell Lee

Mrs. Martha Jane Rowell Lee, age 66, widow of Allen Lavelle Lee, passed away early Monday, March 7, 2022, surrounded by loved ones at home following a brief battle with cancer.

A native of Ware County, she lived in Ware, Clinch and Atkinson Counties in her lifetime. Martha or better known as “Mamma” spent her life caring for many children as owner and operator of Little Panther Day Care in Clinch County. She was currently employed at the Board of Elections in Atkinson County. For many years, she was a member of New Pine Grove Church and currently was a member of Lang Country Church.

Martha was the daughter of the late Howard Rowell and the late Sarah Corbitt Rowell both of Manor. On July 20, 1972, she married her high school sweetheart Allen “Lavelle” Lee, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Dave Story of Fitzgerald; one son and daughter-in-law, Bryan Allen and Mary McKenzie Lee of Homerville; ten grandchildren, Martha-Allayne (Drake) Harrell, Olivia Story, Kylie Johnson, Kaine (Summer) Lee, Kristen (Chad) Diakogiannis, Michael Lee, Lillie Grace Story, Jayda (Michael) Taft, Henry “Dave” Story V, and Keaton Delk. Martha was blessed with eleven great-grandchildren, Braylie Delk, Jaxon Wilson, Brayson Johnson, Everleigh Taft, Kensleigh Diakogiannnis, Oliver Still, Saylor Story, Blakeleigh Taft, Kayson Diakogiannis, and due soon, Layton and Landry Harrell; three brothers, William “Billy” Rowell (Marie), Roger Rowell, and Johnny Rowell (Vickie) all of Manor; as well as several cherished nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 pm at New Pine Grove Church in Homerville. Burial will follow in Camp Branch Providence Cemetery in Manor.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home.
