Marie Harris Stephens

Mayo Marie Harris Stephens, 74, of Homerville passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at River Brook Nursing Center after an extended illness. She was born in Tifton to the late James D. and Ruby Ellen Ray Harris. Mrs. Stephens lived in Lenox, GA for many years where she worked at the sewing factory and baby sat children. The last several years she lived in Homerville. She attended Charity Free Holiness Church in Homerville where her son, Van Stephens is the Pastor.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Dale Stephens; daughter, Michele Lee Stephens; sister, Mildred Mobley; brother, James Harris.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Stefinee Van and Melissa Carol Stephens of Homerville; four granddaughters, Katie (Buddy) Vickers of Homerville, Kyoletia Thomason of Homerville, Maricia (Johnny Lee) Thomas of Homerville, and Kayla DeBruhl of South Carolina; eleven great-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Elli, Diana, Nehemiah, Landen, Elijah, Mavrik, Alayah, Sailor, Patricia, and Sawyer; one brother and sister-in-law, Rickey and Nannette Harris of Omega; two sisters and brother-in-law, Joyce Warren of Nashville, and France and Luis Jimenez of Omega; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family will receive friends Thursday morning, September 3, 2026, from 10 am until 11 am at Roundtree Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held Thursday morning, September 3, 2026, at 11 am at the Roundtree Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at 1:30 pm at Leila Cemetery near Lenox.
