Marcus L. Edmond, 40, of Lakeland, Georgia, passed away peacefully on the morning of July 5, 2025, at South Georgia Medical Center following an illness. He was born in Clinch County to Keith and Joan Edmond.
A graduate of Clinch County High School in 2003, Marcus attended Wiregrass Technical School. He spent several years living in California, where he worked as a truck driver. In 2019, he returned to Lakeland, where he worked at South Georgia Medical Center.
Marcus had a passion for life that was reflected in his many interests. He loved grilling and cooking, enjoyed music, and was an avid writer of stories and poems. Additionally, he had a creative side that shone through in his shirt designs and a love for gardening.
He is survived by three beloved children: MaKayla Edmond, currently serving in the U.S. Navy, and her mother, Dominique Stafford, of Kennesaw, GA; as well as Jaylen and Zuri Edmond, and their mother, Jazzmine Newton, all residing in San Diego, CA. Marcus is also survived by his parents, Keith and Joan Edmond, and by his four brothers, Mark Franklin of Lakeland, Michael Edmond (Simone) of Atlanta, Deon Davis and Terron Briden; two sisters, Tracey Gibb (Joe) of Tifton, GA, and Teisha Edmond of Bainbridge, GA, along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service honoring Marcus's life will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 6 PM at the Roundtree Funeral Home Chapel.
