Lewis Thomas Selph

Homerville

Uncle Lewis Thomas Selph, 69, of Homerville passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023 at his residence after a short illness. He was born in Hazlehurst, GA to the late John Albert and Margaret Lane Hart Selph. Mr. Selph lived in Homerville most of his life where he attended Clinch County Schools. He attended a Heavy Equipment School in North Carolina and retired from Clinch County Road Department after many years of service. After retirement, he worked for Timberline in Cogdell. He always enjoyed fishing, hunting, and especially riding very slow on dirt roads.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Margie Selph McCoy; niece, Allison Elaine Selph Bennett; nephew, Bryant Walter Fender.

Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Jim Allen of Lexington, SC; one brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Lydia Selph of Homerville; six nieces and nephews and their spouses, Wanda and Robbie Brown of Homerville, Angie and William Bradford of Homerville, Cheryl and Chuck Reynolds of Patterson, GA, John Edward Selph of Homerville,  Amy Collins of Adel, GA, Beverlee and Kenneth Roberson of Hahira, Teresa and Vincent Keith-Maybay of Lexington, SC, and Kay and Chris Booker of Spokane, WA; twenty great nieces and nephews and their spouses, Nicole and Matt Spikes of Homerville, Elizabeth and Brian Herrin of Homerville, Austin Bradford of Homerville, Mikki and Richard Yawn of Nashville, GA, Sydney and Dub Shirah of Patterson, GA, Harley Selph of Homerville, John Tristan Selph of Homerville, Gracie Selph of Homerville, Edward Bennett of Homerville, Kylee Shaw of Homerville, Gage Harrell, US Navy Pensacola, FL, Cole Collins of Adel, GA, Damon Collins of Raleigh, NC, Brandon Raffield of Nashville, GA, Caleb Raffield of Homerville, Stephanie and Brett Mayher of Bismark, ND, L.D. and Amanda Keith of Lexington, SC, Collin and Jackelyn Booker of Raleigh, NC, Sophie Maybay of Lexington, SC, and Ashley Booker of Jacksonville, FL; ten great-great nieces and nephews; numerous friends and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon November 16, 2023, at 3 pm at Cornerstone Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 pm at Roundtree Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Laneston Hendricks, Austin Bradford, Edward Selph, Marc Newsome, L.D. Kieth, Tristan Selph and Danny Smith.

The family request the honorary pallbearers to be Mrs. Nancy Strickland and her staff, Ms. Kathy Pearson, and the Intrepid Staff.

The family will be meeting at the home of William and Angie Bradford.
