Lester Davis

Lester Lee Davis, 67, of Argyle passed away Tuesday morning, March 1, 2022, at UF Health in Jacksonville after an extended illness. He was born in Clinch County to the late Marion D. Davis and Mary Smith Davis. Mr. Davis was a graduate of Atkinson County High School. He served in the U.S. Navy for three years and the U.S. Army for two years.  Mr. Davis was a truck driver and owned his own truck for twenty-five years, worked for Axson Timber for six years, and worked last for Haddock Logging. He was a member of Shiloh Church and always enjoyed watching television, especially football, Gunsmoke, and the Andy Griffith show.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Crystal Davis; one son, Tony Davis; one brother, Mickey Davis.

Survivors include his wife of over 17 years, Lillie Thompson Watson Davis of Argyle; four daughters, Lena Leigh Davis of Folkston; Emaleigh Davis and Kelci Davis of Argyle, and Candy Watson of Homerville; two sons, Michael Watson (wife Kristy) of Homerville, and Steven Watson of Douglas; seven grandchildren, Destiny Watson, Malachi Watson, Payton Watson, Luke Watson, Lindsey Watson, Michael Watson, and Jacob Watson; one great-grandchild, Kaylynn Johnson; one sister, Teresa Stults (husband Bob) of Axson; two brothers, Ricky Davis and Mike Davis  both of Axson; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Friday morning at 11 am at Shiloh Church. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 pm at Shiloh Church.
