Milton Junior Smith, 77, of Homerville passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022, on his farm at his cabin after a sudden illness. He was born in Homerville to the late Milton Smith, Sr. and Versie Varnadore Steedley. Mr. Smith lived in Homerville all of his life where he served as the Justice of the Peace and as a County Commissioner for many years. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Smith always enjoyed his mornings at Jerry J’s with the coffee club.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one son, David Smith; three sisters, Linda “Bigen” Smith, Irene Cunningham, and Glenda “Littlen” Odom.
Survivors include seven sons, Jimmy Smith, Tim Smith, Joe Smith, Lawton Smith, Justin Smith (Brittany), Travis Kight (Holly), and Cary Kight (Erika) all of Homerville; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; one sister: Shirley Odum, Atmore, AL; one brother, Benny Smith, Homerville; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held Sunday afternoon, September 4, 2022, at 2 pm at Trinity Baptist Church with a time of fellowship following the service in the Social Hall.
