Joseph Thompson

Joseph Thompson, 63, of Waycross passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026, in Pearson, GA after a short illness. He was born in Waycross to Henry Ford Thompson and Alice Hutcheson Thompson. Mr. Thompson worked at the trailer plant in Homerville for many years. He always enjoyed fishing and especially spending time with his grandbabies.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Lee Thompson; one grandson, Joey Nelson; two brothers, Charles Edward Stevenson and Clifford Thompson; two sisters, Mary Frances Davis and Katie Ruth Griffis.

Survivors include one daughter, Leighshan Edwards of Waycross, one son, Jacob Thompson of Waycross; two grandchildren, King Edwards and Kawhi Edwards; one brother, H.L. Thompson of Homerville; four sisters, Donna Fay Mefford of Brunswick, Lillie Mae Davis of Homerville, Betty Bennett (Lewis) of Argyle, and Jeanette Morgan (David) of Homerville; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 5 pm until 7 pm at Roundtree Funeral Home.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
