John Reavis Newbern, Jr (Buddy Newbern) 60, passed away at South Georgia Medical Center March 16,2024 after a lengthy illness. Buddy was born January 25,1963 in Homerville, Georgia to Evelyn Stephens and the late John Reavis Newbern, Sr.
Buddy was a retired truck driver. He loved working on cars and spending time with his friends and family. He was a beloved father and loved nothing in this world more than his girls and his grandchildren. Anyone that knew him knew he loved to joke around and always had a smile on his face. Buddy lit up any room he entered and would give you the shirt off his back.

He is proceeded in death by his father, John Reavis Newbern, Sr and his sister, Rita Elizabeth Brantley.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Newbern; his mother, Evelyn Stephens of Homerville, stepmom, Barbara Newbern of Valdosta; his three daughters, Jessica Nicole Newbern, Cassandra Lynn Newbern, and Julia Rochelle Newbern; one stepdaughter, Chelsey Mathis of Lakeland. As well as four grandsons, Dekoda Newbern, Colton Chaney, Brentley Loyd, and Jayden Glaze’ four granddaughters, Lexie Mizell, Rekasia Newbern, Annistyn Newbern, and Jayda Glaze; two sisters & son in laws, Chachi & Roger Thomas of Manor and Tammy & Frank Blanton of Valdosta; one brother, Peewee Newbern of Homerville; nieces, Michelle Newbern of Homerville, and Lizzie Bass of Lakeland; one nephew, Parker John Blanton of Valdosta; four great nieces, Heather, Megan, Summer, and Hannah; one great nephew, Chad Adams, all of Homerville; as well as a number of great-great nieces and nephews; former girlfriend and special friend, Pam Hill of Lyons, GA. 

Memorialization will be by cremation.
