Jerry Burch

Jerry Burch, 80, of Homerville joined his Heavenly Father on Wednesday night, August 26, 2026, at River Brook Nursing Home in Homerville after an extended illness. He was born in Nicholls, GA on July 5, 1946, to the late Daniel and Dreanice Youngblood Burch and lived in Homerville most of his life. Mr. Burch was a graduate of Clinch County High School and worked and raised his family in Homerville. He dedicated 48 years of service to B-Way as a Forklift Driver. He was an avid sport enthusiast and spent much of his retirement days doing what he loved, watching one game or another on TV. Jerry, also known as Mule, was well known and loved around town as he was a regular in most of the eating establishments. He loved people and being social and would talk to anyone around. Mr. Burch enjoyed cutting up with everyone, he had a big laugh that was even louder than he talked. Most of all, he loved Jesus. He attended several churches in town including New Vision Church of God and Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, Cody Burch; one brother, David Burch, and one sister Loraline Burch Peacock.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Luke and April Burch of Waycross, and Hank and Tracy Burch of Homerville; grandchildren, Dustin (Brooklyn) Burch of Homerville, Emma (Dawson) Steedley of Fargo, Mary Hannah (Brett) Mills of Lakeland, Tyler Knox, Lillie Knox, and Allie Roberson all of Waycross; four great grandchildren, Landon, Bailey, and Jaxson Mills of Lakeland, and Cody James Steedley of Fargo; sister-in-law, Candy Burch of Homerville; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.

A memorial service will be held Monday afternoon, August 31, 2026, at 2 pm at the Roundtree Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will have a private burial at a later date.
