Jeannette “Jean” Lucienne Berenger Leffingwell, 84, of Homerville passed away, Wednesday evening, June 5, 2024, at her residence after an extended illness. She was born in Atlanta, GA to the late Raoul Berenger and Ellis Jean Marie Husson Berenger. Ms. Leffingwell lived in many places across the country and made Homerville her home for the last thirty years. She attended Lovejoy Church in Lakeland. Ms. Leffingwell enjoyed quilting, making yogurt pies, baking, and especially sharing goodie with people.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Butch Leffingwell; two grandsons, Matthew James Fleming and Jeffrey Derek Shaw; sister, Mary Elizabeth Vanover.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa and Tony Vickers of Homerville, Pam and Clinton Beverly of Manor, and Belynda Fleming of Douglasville, GA; five grandchildren, Steven Smith of Blackshear, Eric Shaw (wife Laura) of Homerville, Stacy Register (husband Clint) of Lakeland, Jessica McMillan (husband Malcolm) of Homerville, and Breanna Hill (husband Donte) of Homerville; fifteen great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 2 pm at the Roundtree Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Berrien County.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home.
