James "J.E." Smith

Mr. James E. “J.E.” Smith, 63, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019, in the RiverBrook Health Care Center, following a long illness.   Mr. Smith was born September 16, 1956, in Homerville, GA to the late James Walker Smith and Sarah Herrin Colburn and was raised by the late Sonny Colburn. He had worked at Lee Engineering and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member and deacon of Covenant Outreach Ministries in Pearson, GA.   Survivors are two daughters: Pamela Smith, Homerville and Valarie Smith, Ohio; two sisters: Janet Smith, Cape Coral, FL and Teresa Taylor, Naylor; one cousin: Sharon Allen, Homerville, GA; four grandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.   Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be held Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019 at ten o’clock at the Covenant Outreach Ministries, Pearson, GA.   Interment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery.   The family will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019 from 6 til 8 p.m. at the funeral home.   Sympathy maybe expressed by signing the online registry at www.roundtreefuneralhome.net.   Roundtree Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
