Irene Nettles Lashley

Lilly Irene Nettles Lashley, 85, of Homerville passed away Friday, May 12, 2023, at her daughter's residence after an extended illness. She was born in Clinch County to the late Thomas Jefferson and Minnie Inez Boatright Nettles and lived here most of her life. Mrs. Lashley worked at Standard Container and mostly was a homemaker. She attended Harvest Time Church of God with her daughter and New Vision Church of God with her son and always enjoyed gardening, fishing and tending to chickens, ducks, and geese.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Eddie Lee Lashley; one grandson, Ricky Allen Lashley; one sister, Frances Deese; five brothers, Thomas Henry Nettles, William Edgar Nettles, James Marvin Nettles, Albert Morris Nettles, and Ernest Randall Nettles.

Survivors include her husband, Elmer Lashley of Homerville; one daughter and son-in-law, Rose and Allen Mathis of Homerville; four sons and daughters-in-law, James and Mary Lou Lashley, Kenneth and Gloria Lashley, Richard Lashley, Paul and Sandy Lashley all of Homerville; thirteen grandchildren and their spouses, Keith and Heather Stalvey of Daytona Beach, FL, Jena and Rob Herrin of Homerville, Joy and Paul Dettling of Guyton, GA, Adan & Christy Lashley of Waycross, Tiffany Rowan of Blackshear, Christopher & Linda Lashley of Blackshear, Marvin and Christi Lashley of Patterson, Tommy and Tisha Lashley of Homerville, Daniel Lashley of Blackshear, Justin and Mary Lashley of Homerville, Kenton Lashley of Argyle, Josh Lashley of Argyle, Heather and Donny Anderson of Ketchikan, Alaska, Catherine Lashley of Homerville, Mariah Lashley of Homerville, and Maria Lashley of Homerville; twenty eight great grandchildren; twenty great-great grandchildren; one sister, Clara Carter of Paragould , Arkansas; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Monday morning, May 15, 2023, at 11 am at Harvest Time Church of God. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home.
