Harry Lee Handley, Sr.

Mr. Harry Lee Handley, Sr., 80, passed away Monday, December 2, 2019, at his residence, following a short illness.   Mr. Handley was born April 10, 1939, in DuPont, GA to the late Zachery Taylor “Z.T.” Handley and Martha Stalvey Handley. He had worked as a cable splicer for the telephone company for over 40 years and had worked in 41 states and with his sons in 23 of those states. He was a member of the DuPont Baptist Church and Trinity Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by two sons: Harry Lee “Bubba” Handley, Jr., and Kyle Zachery Handley.   Survivors are his wife: Betty Allen Handley, DuPont; two daughters and son-in-law: Carla Handley, Valdosta, and Pam & Randy Williams, Homerville; one son and daughter-in-law: Allen & Amy Handley, DuPont; one daughter-in-law: Mary Ruth Handley, Homerville; one sister: Katie Rice, DuPont ; one brother and sister-in-law: Charles & Kathy Handley, Fargo; six grandchildren: Victoria Palmer, Skylar Riberson, Ashton Williams, Zackery Handley, Breanna Handley and Lexie Handley: three great grandchildren: Eleck Warren, Seager Warren and Thatcher Riberon; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.   Funeral services for Mr. Handley will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at eleven o’clock at the Cornerstone Baptist Church.   Interment will be in the North Cemetery, DuPont, GA.   The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 3, 2019 from 6 till 8 pm at the funeral home.
