Mr. Gary Floyd Allen, 64, passed away Tuesday, September, 21, 2021, at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Allen was born June 26, 1957 in Homerville, GA. He graduated from Clinch County High School and was employed by the Clinch County Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy Sheriff before his retirement because of health related issues. He attended the New Vision Church of God, loved hunting, fishing, shooting pool and keeping up with his grandchildren on Facebook.
He was preceded in death by his father: Johnny Floyd Allen; and his father and mother-in-law: Bruce and JoAnn Herrin.
Survivors are his wife: Susan Herrin Allen, Homerville; three daughters: Crystal Bagley (Scott), Christina O’Brien (Michael) and Brandi Delk, all of Homerville; one son: Matt Allen (Sabrina), Homerville; his mother: Jean Knowling Allen, Homerville; three sisters: Laurie Webb (David) and Shelly Studebaker (Mark), both of Homerville and Shanna Adkins (Jeremy), Hahira; one brother: Tony Allen (Sharon), Homerville; sister-in-law: Darlene Johnson (Donald), Homerville; nine grandchildren: Matthew Allen, Gracie Allen, Andrew Allen, Leighanna Allen, Dawson Allen, Joseph Bagley, Lexie Edenfield, Chaston O’Brien and Colt O’Brien; one great grandchild: River Harrell; nine nieces and nephews: Anthony Allen, Dalton Allen, Melody Mason, Marlee Studebaker, Jared Studebaker, Shania Gordan and Pamela Johnson, and several other relatives.
Funeral services for Mr. Allen will be held Thursday, September 23, 2021 at eleven o’clock in the New Vision Church of God. Burial will be in the Shiloh Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 till 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
