Fannie Lee Fitzgerald, of Homerville, GA, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, at the age of 80 at her residence surrounded by loving family after an extended illness.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Fannie will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and humor. Fannie was retired from Brockway, where she worked faithfully for many years.
She spent many happy years in her garden and cherished time with her grandchildren. She deeply loved her family, and nothing mattered more to her than being surrounded by them.
Fannie was preceded in death by her parents, Randall and Lucille Lee Corbitt, her husband, James Fitzgerald, and sister, Laura Bell Beverly.
She is survived by her loving sons: John B. Fitzgerald (Lena) and James Fitzgerald (Kim); brothers, Lucious Corbitt (Bobbie), Jimmy Corbitt (Karen), Lenard Corbitt (Doris), Raymond Corbitt; Brother-in-law, Harry Lee Beverly; sisters, Delores Willis (Timmon), Josephine Griffin (Than), and Maggie Mae Pittman; Grandchildren, Heather Fitzgerald, Julie Jiminez, George Fitzgerald, Jonathon Fitzgerald, Rob Fitzgerald, and Katie Bennett; Great-grandchildren, Mason Bennett, Woody Fitzgerald, Layton Bennett, Anneleigh Fitzgerald, and Matthew Fitzgerald; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 12 noon at the Roundtree Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial will follow in Fitzgerald Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends beginning at 11 am Thursday morning at the funeral home.
