Elroy Douglas

Mr. Elroy Douglas, 95 passed away, Friday, January 8, 2021, following a brief illness.

Mr. Douglas was born, December 6, 1925, in, Charlton Co GA to the late James Leonard Douglas and Debbie Shivers Douglas.  He attended the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church. Mr. Douglas was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a mason, worked in a shipyard, and was a self-employed contractor. He was preceded in death by Poma Lee Douglas, Edmond Douglas, Hardee B. Douglas, S. T. Douglas, Willie Douglas, Lillie Mae Balance, Dollie Mae Maine, Louise Adams, and Lottie Thrift   

Survivors are his wife of 77+ years: Janice Steedley Douglas, Homerville, GA; 2 daughters: Minda McCants (Terry), Butler Ga, JaNice Holmes (Ric), Cleveland SC; 1 son: James E. Douglas Sr. (Judy), Homerville Ga; 1 sister: Leatha Smith, Pine Bluff AR; 4 grandchildren Jill Hatton (Tim), Jed Douglas (Martha), Jonathan McCants (Amanda), Jay McCants (Heather): 11 great grandchildren Dowry, Caroline, Catherine, Jude, Frank, Aidan, Caroline, Micah, Ellie, Olivia, and Isaac; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives
