Brooks Erwin Blitch, III

Brooks Erwin Blitch, III passed away Friday, September 11, 2026, after a long illness. He was born in Homerville to the late Brooks Blitch, II and Iris Faircloth Blitch and lived here most of his life.

He loved his family, Clinch County, and everyone he ever met, most importantly he loved the Lord.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret A. Herold “Peg” Blitch; one son, Greer Burrows Blitch; sister, Betty Dabbert.

Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Brooks E. Blitch, IV “Little Brooks” and Brett H. Blitch and his wife Gail, all of Homerville; daughter-in-law, Misty Blitch of Enid, OK; five grandchildren, Paxton Blitch Douglas (Lee) of Homerville, Chase Blitch (Lily) of Homerville, Kaitlyn Ross, Kristyn Mattox, and Bradley Roberts, all of Enid, OK; one great-grandson, Beau; one niece, Betty Iris Thompson; one nephew, Dayton Turberville.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 2 pm at Shiloh Church with Brother Louis Cassotta and Rev. James Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 pm until 8 pm at Shiloh Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church of your choice. Please love everyone, for that was his wish.
