Mrs. Betty Singleton Steedley, 91, passed away Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, at her residence following a short illness.
Mrs. Steedley was born March 24, 1934, in Pulaski, GA, to the late Walter McArthur Singleton and Lucy Katherine Yansom Singleton. She had lived in Clinch County most of her life and was retired from the Clinch County Board of Education as a lunchroom lady and she loved to cook.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband, David Ira Steedley, Sr., two daughters: Robin Culpepper and Pam Bennett, two grandsons: Scotty Inman and Richard Steedley; three sisters: Gloria Sanders, Francis Paxton and Mary Wright; three brothers: Benny Singleton, Ronny Singleton and James Singleton.
Survivors are two daughters: Sara Lott (Steve), Douglas and Lynn Steedley, Argyle; one son: David Ira “June Bug” Steedley, Jr., Argyle; one sister: Brenda Bailey (Allen), Milledgeville, GA; ten grandchildren: Junior Inman (Tammy), Manor, Iris Steedley (Jacob Rowell), Manor, John Steedley (Heather), Homerville, David Ira Steedley, III, Homerville, Brandy Clements (Jim), Willacoochee, Henry Steedley (Ashley), Hazlehurst, Cary Joyner, Oklahoma, Jason Bennett, Oklahoma, Amy Bennett, Oklahoma, And James Steedley, Argyle, several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Steedley will be held Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025 at three p.m. from the chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home with the Rev. W.G. Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Camp Branch Providence Cemetery, Manor, GA.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025 from 6 till 8 pm at the funeral home.
