Alonzo Columbus Gibbs, Jr.

Alonzo Columbus Gibbs, Jr., 86, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, in the Satilla Memorial Hospital, Waycross, following a short illness.

A native and lifelong resident of Clinch County,  he was born, May 25, 1937 to the late Alonzo Columbus Gibbs, Sr. and Margaret Young Gibbs. He was a retired bee keeper and truck driver for Core Trucking. Mr. Gibbs loved to duck hunt, fish, watch westerns and loved to travel. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elma Lee Highsmith Gibbs, and one sister, Venita Gibbs Carver.

Survivors are three daughters: Bonnie Carol Gibbs, Homerville, Patricia Jones (James), Waycross and Eileen Smith, Valdosta; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; one sister: Marguaree Gibbs H. Parker, Florida and several other relatives.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
