Allie Jean Sowell Crumbley Germano, 94, of Waycross passed away Saturday evening, May 30, 2026, at Baptist Village after a short illness. She was born in Ware County to the late John William and Lou Rena Steedley Sowell and lived in Waycross most of her life. Mrs. Germano was a member of Homerville First Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Garden Club and always enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Pamela Ann Crumbley; one brother, James Albert Sowell; four sisters, Vivian Sowell, Pauline Cox, Ocie Petty, Vera Cox, and Annie Lee Crumbley.
Survivors include five sons, Charles Crumbley of Waycross, Jimmy Crumbley (wife Bess) of Homerville, Roy Crumbley (wife Phyllis) of Homerville, Johnnie Crumbley (wife Joy) of Cogdell, Donald Crumbley (wife Penny) of Waycross; eleven grandchildren, Tony Crumbley (wife Joanie) of Helena, GA, Laurel Roundtree (husband Jason) of Douglas, Suzanna Young (husband Jason) of Brunswick, Hallie Beverly (husband Brent) of Homerville, Chad Crumbley (wife Christian) of Newnan, GA, Blake Crumbley (wife Kayla) of Homerville, Carra Goodman (husband Russ) of Cogdell, Juliana Crane (husband Lt. Col. Adam) of Germany, Rebecca Calley of Homerville, Donald Crumbley, Jr. (wife Alexis) of Waycross, and Gina Blitch (husband Walker) of Statesboro; twenty-one great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon, June 2, 2026, at 2 pm at Homerville First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Fulton officiating. Burial will follow in Kettle Creek Cemetery in Waycross.
The family will receive friends Tuesday beginning at 1 pm at Homerville First Baptist Church.
