Mrs. Hazel Marjorie Crews Smith, 80, passed away Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at the Langdale Hospice House, Valdosta, GA. Mrs. Smith was born March 14, 1930 in Charlton County, to the late Charlie Lee Crews and Grace Brooks Crews. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and a minister’s wife for 58 years and the rock Rev. Marvin Smith built his ministry on. She was self-employed with Marvin Smiths’ Grocery. She was preceded in death by one sister Helen Chesser, five brothers, Basil Crews, Earl Crews, Calvin Crews, Kenneth Crews and Herbert Crews. Survivors are her husband Rev. Marvin Smith of Homerville, two sons and daughters-in-law: Lee M. & Karen Smith of Valdosta, GA, and Kenneth L. & Abigail Smith of Homerville, GA; five grand children: Jared A. Smith, Hailee D. Smith & Angela G. Smith, all of Valdosta, Justin Smith and Zachary Smith, both of Homerville three sisters-in law: Annie Crews and Mildred Crews of Folkston, GA and Clara Harper of Homerville: one brother and sister-in-law: Carlos and Melba Crews, Lake City FL; special niece and nephew Lori Smith & Guy Mathis of Adel, GA, and Greg Smith, Tifton; great nephew: Jake Smith, Tifton, GA; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Services for Mrs. Smith will be held Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 3p.m. from the Homerville First Baptist. Internment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6 til 9 pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Smith will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services. Donations may be made to the South Gerogia Hospice % Langdale Hospice, 2251 Pineview St., Valdosta, GA 31602 Roundtree Funeral Home is serving the Smith Family.
