Mrs. Deborah Ellen Timmons Vickers, 58, passed away Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at the Clinch Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness. Mrs. Vickers was born Jan. 16, 1952 in Marion, Indiana. She graduated from Marion College, Marion, Indiana and earned her master’s degree from Valdosta State University and was retired from the Clinch County Board of Education teaching grades K – 4. She was a member of the Homerville Free Will Baptist Church were she served as a Sunday School Teacher, was a former member of the Homerville United Methodist Church were she served as head of the GA’s, Sunday School Teacher, member of the choir and VBS teacher. Mrs. Vickers was a past member of the Clinch County Band Boosters and past Den Mother for the Boy Scouts. She was presently working as the teacher of the GED program through the Okefenokee Technical College, Waycross. Mrs. Vickers was the widow of Fred Randy Vickers. Survivors are one son: Jim Vickers, Homerville, her father and mother: Donald Eugene Timmons and Betty Lou Bailey Timmons, Homerville; two step sons: Whit Vickers, Valdosta and Zach Vickers, Lincoln, NB; one sister and brother-in-law: Mary & Gregg Sayers, Valdosta; one brother & sister-in-law: Jeffery L. & Lisa Timmons, Marion, IN; one grandchild: Blayden Corbitt, Pearson; two step-grandchildren: Lauren Vickers & Will Vickers, Valdosta; six nieces & nephews: Amanda Kirk, Aaron Kirk, both of Hahira, GA, Christie & Greg Davis, Valdosta, Olivia & Derick Wright, Melissa & Derick Bryant and Abigail Timmons, Marion IN; several great nieces and nephews and other relatives. Services for Mrs. Vickers will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at four o’clock from the Homerville Free Will Baptist Church. Internment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 21, 2010, from 6 till 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations to the Homerville Free Will Baptist Church Camp Scholarship Fund, P. O. Box 354, Homerville, GA 31634, so children can go to the Free Will Baptist Church Junior and Teen Camp. Roundtree Funeral Home is serving the Vickers Family.
