Minnie Lee Downam

Lakeland, GA Mrs. Minnie Lee Spikes Downam, 70, passed away Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, in the South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta, GA, following an extended illness. Mrs. Downam was born in Lanier County, September 17, 1939 to the late Henry Spikes and Gola Rogers Spikes. Mrs. Downam was a homemaker. Survivors are her husband: Joseph H. Downam, Lakeland, GA; two sons: Henry Ernie Nettles, Lakeland, GA and George William Nettles, Kingsland; a brother, Billy O. Spikes, St., Mary’s, GA; five grandchildren, several great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Graveside services for Mrs. Downam will be held Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at Two o’clock in the Hargraves Chapel Cemetery, Millwood, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, from 10 am until time for the services.
