Betty Jean James

Mrs. Betty Jean Griffis James, 79, passed away in the Pierce County Nursing Home June 17, 2010, following a long illness. Mrs. James was born in Clinch County, Jan. 10, 1931 to the late Horace Griffis and Noley Pittman Griffis. She was retired from Standard Container, member of the Camp Branch Church of God of Prophecy and was preceded in death by her husband John Huey James and Two sons, Jimmy James and Ronald James. Survivors are: Four Daughters and sons-in-law: Almarie and Doug Mullis of Axson, Betty and Buddy Benson Flintstone, Maryland, Velda and Rex Smith Manor, and Bonnie and Don Joyce of Homerville. Two Sons and daughter-in-law: Huey M. and Barbara James of Manor and Donald James of Manor. Three Sisters: Dephene Reeves of Fargo, Ava Nell Ott of Buford, S.C. and Linnie Beckham of Homerville. Seventeen Grandchildren, Thirty three Great Grandchildren, Three Great Great Grandchildren and several other relatives. Services for Mrs. James will be held at Two o’clock Saturday, June 19, 2010 from Camp Branch Church of God Prophecy in Manor. Interment will be in the Camp Branch Church of God Prophecy Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6 till 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
