Homerville, GA Mrs. Carrie Lee Smith Futch, 93, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at Louis Smith Memorial. Mrs. Futch was born April 27, 1916, in Clinch County, to the late Abraham Smith & Annie S. Smith, the last of 15 children. She was retired from Standard Container as a machine Operator, also employed by Minsons Department Store and Youngs, and was a member of the Prospect Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Futch was preceded by her husband: John Alva Futch; two sons-in-law: William “Pat” Sirmans & Mitchell Bennett; one granddaughter: Carrie Aleta Sirmans; and a grandson: Stacy Sirmans. Survivors are two daughters: Bobbie Sirmans & Ann Bennett, of DuPont; One Son-in-law: Joel “Buddy” Sirmans, of Homerville; four grandsons: John O. & Ellen Sirmans, Faron & Betty Sirmans, all of Homerville, Jason T. & Cindy Sirmans, of DuPont, & Alvin Sirmans, of Lakeland; three granddaughters: Brenda & Robert Nash, of Homerville, Derese & Larry Rigdon, and Denese Cox, all of DuPont; six great-grandsons: Conway Skinner, Lavell & Alicia Rigdon, Austin Sirmans, Eric Sutton, all of DuPont, Daniel & Victoria Sirmans, of Lakeland, and Lee & Kristy Nash, of Homerville; thirteen great-granddaughters: Jena Sirmans, Tanya & Aaron Walker, Ellen Lee & John Andrew Young, Hope & Sid Mizell, Fara & Derrick Smith, Loretta Sirmans, Kelsey Bennett, Caitlin Sirmans, Jamie Sirmans, all of Homerville, Brandi Shaw, Leigh Ann Nash, Kaycee & Brandon Hughes, and Shelby Sirmans, all of DuPont; twenty-six great-great-grandchildren: Kaleb Cason, Zachary Cason, Trent Cason, Leah Wadkins, Shyan Mizell, Seth Mizell, Sydney Mizell, Kalei Walker, Aaron Walker, Jr, Jack Jewell, Cody Jewell, Melody Mizell, Elijah Smith, Malakhi Smith, Bailey Smith, McKenzie Pittman, Landon Sirmans, Bo Sirmans, Krislyn Nash, Hali Rigdon, Lara Rigdon, Gabriel Rigdon, Aaren Newbern, ReAnna Stoker, Joel Stoker, & Graysen Sirmans; & other relatives. Services for Mrs. Futch will be held Saturday, March 6, 2010, at two o'clock from Prospect Primitive Baptist Church. Internment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from the Roundtree Funeral Home, Friday, March 5, 2010, from 6 til 9.
