Homerville, GA Mr. Benjamin Franklin Burkett, 68, passed away Monday evening, January 4, 2010, at the Louis Smith Memorial Hospital. Mr. Burkett was born February 10, 1941, in Jeff Davis County, to the late Christian Hall Burkett & Leoler Briley Burkett. He was employed by Clinch County Commissioners as a Heavy Equipment Operator & a member of New Vision Church of God. Mr. Burkett was preceded by a sister: Livian Wright. Survivors are his Wife: Lora Nell McClaine Burkett, of Homerville; two step-sons & daughters-in-law: Timothy & Mindy Newsome, or Middletown, RI, & Mark & JoAnn Newsome, of Middleburg, NY; a step-daughter & son-in-law: Lori & Steve McSwain, of Santa Clause, IN; eight grandchildren; & several other relatives. Services for Mr. Burkett will be held Saturday, January 9, 2010, at eleven o'clock from New Vision Church of God. Internment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery. The Family will receive friends from the Roundtree Funeral Home, Friday evening, January 8, 2010, from 6 til 8pm. Roundtree Funeral Home is serving the Burkett Family.
