Lawrence James Hunter, Sr.

Homerville, GA Mr. Lawrence James Hunter, Sr., 83, passed away Thursday evening, December 3, 2009, at his residence. Mr. Hunter was born May 26, 1926, in Cook County, to the late Gordan Hardy Hunter & Mary King Hunter. He was a Telecommunications Installer for Westen Electric, and a Veteran for the U.S. Army during the WWII. Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by his son: Lawrence James Hunter, Jr. Survivors are his Wife: Mary Ruth Holmes Hunter, of Callahan; a daughter & son-in-law: Lisa Hunter & Dale Edward Wingo, Sr., of Callahan, FL; three grandchildren: Priscilla Canterbury, Clinton Boyette, &Preston Wingo, all of Callahan; two great-grandchildren: America & Mae Ahna Cantebury, both of Callahan;& several other relatives. Services for Mr. Hunter will be held Sunday, December 6, 2009, at three o'clock from Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church. Internment will be in the Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from the Roundtree Funeral Home, Saturday evening, December 5, 2009, from 6 til 8pm. Mr. Hunter will be carried to the church one hour prior to services.
