Statenville, GA Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Sistrunk Rewis, 81, passed away Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, following a short illness. Mrs. Rewis was born Dec. 21, 1936, in Echols County, to the late Remer Sistrunk and Susie Hunter Sistrunk. She had worked at Holiday Inn as a waitress and was a member of the Fruitland Church of God. She loved the Lord and her family. She loved to fish, cook, and make quilts and crochet and loved taking care of her flowers and loved ministering over the food bank at the church. She was preceded in death by two sons: Stan Rewis and Steve Rewis; four sisters and one brother. Survivors are her husband: Eugene Talmadge Rewis, Statenville; two daughters and a son-in-law: Wanda & Ricky Daniels and Monica Ellis, all of Statenville; four sons and daughters-in-law: Dwight Rewis, Valdosta, Randy & Glenda Rewis, James Rewis and Ryan & Megan Williamson, all of Statenville; a daughter-in-law: Barbara Rewis, Waycross; twelve grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several other relatives. Graveside services for Mrs. Rewis will be held Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017 at two o’clock from the Wayfare Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
