Minnie Montine Strickland Houtz, age 91, of Douglasville, formerly of Homerville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017. She was born on February 12, 1926 in Homerville, Georgia to the late Walter Strickland and the late Violia Hendrix Strickland. Minnie was a homemaker and was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Douglasville, Georgia. Minnie is survived by her sons: Edward “Ed” Cason, Mike Bryan and his wife, Barbara; grandchildren: Alan Bryan and his wife, Kalin, Allison Bryan, Matt Bryan, Mark Cason, Melinda Cason, Colleen Cason, Kevin Cason; brother: Schanze Strickland and his wife, Peggy; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son: Keith Cason; 3 sisters; 2 brothers. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church at 11:00 AM in Homerville, Georgia.
