Melissa Darlene Vinson

Homerville, GA Ms. Melissa Darlene Vinson, 47, passed away Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, in the Opelousas General Hospital, Opelousas, Louisiana, following a short illness. Ms. Vinson was born January 17, 1970, in Brunswick, GA, to the late Richard Herman Vinson and Nita King Pate. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Lisa Smith and Teresa Cox. Survivors are two daughters and a son-in -aw: Brittany & Mika Tiner, and Mandy Hutchinson, all of Homerville; one son: David Jeffords (Lily Hinson), Homerville: her step-mother: Margaret Vinson, Waycross: two sisters and brothers-in-law: Samantha & Kevin Rittenhouse, Homerville and Tabitha & Tony Propes, Waycross; two step-brothers: Darion & Darlene O’Berry DuPont and Bill & Julie O’Berry, Waycross; four grandchildren: Maki Tiner, Elijah Tiner, Chloe Jeffords and Jada Jeffords; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Ms. Vinson will be held Friday, Oct. 27, 2017 at one o’clock from the Zenith Baptist Church, Manor, GA. Interment will be in the Arabia Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Ms. Vinson will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services.
