Dorothy L. Gray

Homerville, GA Mrs. Dorothy Lee Holmes Gray, 93, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, in the Lakeland Villa, Lakeland, GA, surrounded by her loving family, following an extended illness. Mrs. Gray was born May 31, 1924, in Columbia County, FL, to the late Frank Holmes and Daisy Garrett Holmes. She was a member of the New Vision Church of God, where she had taught Sunday School for 30+ years. She was retired from Standard Container. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie W. Gray. Survivors are four daughters and sons in law: Joyce & David Oxford, Savannah, GA, JoAnn Johnson, Ray City, GA, Pattie & Richard Willard, Murfreesboro, TN, and Peggie & David Smith, Valdosta, GA; four sons and daughters-in-law: W. C. & Sylvia Gray, Madison, FL, Gene & Patricia Gray, Fargo, GA, Harold, Gray, Manor, GA and Donnie & Sue Gray, Waresboro, GA; twenty nine grandchildren, fifty three great grandchildren, thirty great great grandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. Gray will be held Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017 at two o’clock from the New Vision Church of God. Interment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 4, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Gray will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services.
