Garfield Corbett

Homerville, GA Mr. Garfield Corbett, 89, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017, in the Clinch HealthCare, following an extended illness. Mr. Corbett was born August 15, 1927, in Homerville, GA, to the late Marshall Corbett and Annie Lee McKinnon Corbett. He was a retired turpentiner. He was preceded in death by all his siblings. Survivors are his companion of 40 years Edna Tolbert, Homerville; five daughters and sons-in-law: Beverly & Ed Corbett, Atlanta, Minnie & Arthur Malone, Mable Wiggs, Maybell & Warren Johnson, all of Homerville, and Shelia Curtis, Douglas; four sons and daughters-in-law: Garfield Corbett, Jr., Atlanta, Stacy Corbett, Lake Butler, FL, Andy & Cythia Hutcherson, Lakeland, GA and Johnny & Crystal Tolbert, New York; 35 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Corbett will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 at two o’clock from the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, May 12, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Corbett will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services.
