Homerville, GA Mrs. Floye Rusha Davis Douglas, 88, passed away Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, in the Mayo Clinic Health System, Waycross, following an extended illness. Mrs. Douglas was born Sept. 11, 1928, in Naylor, GA to the late Willie Burton Davis and Della Floye Davis Davis. She retired from Brockway Standard in 1991 and was a member of the New Vision Church of God where she had sang in the Choir and was involved in the Nursery Ministry. She was seamstress in the community before going to work at Brockway Standard. She was preceded in death by her husband: S.T. Douglas, one daughter: Kareen Bennett; one son-in-law: Ronnie Delk; four sisters: Velma Smith, Grace Tomlinson, Esther Smith and Tempa Mae Davis; four brothers: H. C. Davis, Frank Davis, Woodrow Davis and Lloyd Davis. Survivors are two daughters and a son-in-law: Rosalind Delk and Cindy & Art Smith, all of Homerville; eight grandchildren: Ron Delk, Rusty & Ty Delk, Monica & Will Joyce, Rebekah & Rance Morgan, Ryan & Kayla Smith, Jacob & Danielle Smith, Chad Stewart, and Dustin Bennett; eleven great grandchildren: and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. Douglas will be held Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017 at two o’clock from the New Vision Church of God. Interment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Douglas will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services.
