William "Bill" Edward Johnson

Homerville, GA Mr. William “Bill” Edward Johnson, 62, passed away Sunday evening, July 12, 2009, at his residence. Mr. Johnson was born September 26, 1946, in Columbus, GA, to the late Robert Jerry Johnson & Bessie Mae Boutwell Johnson. He was retired from the Air Force, of twenty years, during active duty, he spent fourteen & a half years in Arabia; five years in Moody Air Force Base, of Valdosta; one year in Robins Air Force Base; & time in McDeal Air Force Base; Thailand Holloman N.M.; Hongu, Germany; Colorado Springs, CO; Bettsbridge, Germany; Luke Air Force Base, Phoenix City, AL; & Holloman N.M. He was also employed by Tim Co. AirDynamics, of Lake City, FL. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his brothers: Henry E. “PeeWee” Johnson & Robert L. “Bit” Johnson. Survivors are his wife: Betty Brown Johnson, of Homerville; two daughters & sons-in-law: Toni & Johnny Holbrook, of Nashville, GA, & Teresa & Mike Corbitt, of Manor; a son & daughter-in-law: Bob & Niecey Johnson; a sister & brother-in-law: Geretha J. & David L. Greer, of Kingsport, TENN.; two brothers & sisters-in-law: Jerry L. Johnson, of Salem, AL, Charles E. & Ann Johnson of Spring Hill, TENN; Beatrice Johnson, of Seffner, FL, Marcella Johnson, of Tampa, FL; seven grandchildren & spouses: Eddie & Buffy Holbrook, of Nashville, GA, Crystal & Bruce Clisby, of Tampa, FL, Becky Holbrook, of Nashville, GA, Jennifer & Austin Deloach, of Homerville, GA, Tiffney & Justin Stabling, of Waycross, GA, Michael & Christy Corbitt, of Manor, GA, & Josh Lee, of DuPont, GA; seven great-grandchildren: Alora Gail Deloach, Kenlee Deloach, Hoss Holbrook, Joci Holbrook, Drew Starling, Paris Starling, & Gracie Corbitt; and several other relatives. Services for Mr. Johnson will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at four o’clock, at the Homerville Free Will Baptist Church. Internment will be in the North Cemetery, of DuPont, GA. The family will receive friends from the Roundtree Funeral Home, Tuesday, July 14, 2009, from 7 til 9 pm. Mr. Johnson will be carried to the Church one hour prior to services. Roundtree Funeral Home is serving the Johnson family.
