Homerville, GA Mr. James Lonnie “Jamie” Smith, Jr., 43, passed away, Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016, at his residence. Mr. Smith was born July 27, 1973, in Homerville, Georgia. He was as a self-employed painter. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Mary Bell Crumbley & Joseph “Buck” Griffin, his paternal grandparents: Lonnie “Buster” Smith and Ruby Inman Smith. Survivors are his father: James L. Smith, Sr., Homerville, his mother: Ellen Griffin Nipper, Homerville; sister: Shannon Smith; nephews: Jacob Swearingen, Dalton Swearingen, Bryce Smith, Dylon Smith and Brantley Swearingen; uncles: Everett & Debi Griffin, Robert & Arlene Griffin, Michael & Betty Carin, and Vernell & Teresa Smith; aunts: Ruby Dell & Jerry Deese, Ruthell & Carlton Stalvey, Lelia Bell & Wayne Mathis; cousins: Dewayne Stalvey, Jeffery Stalvey, Terry Smith, Loraine Burkhalter, Jessica Moten, Derick Smith, Chad Mathis, Dawn Rice, Cindy Welch, Ginger Prescott and Johnny Devon Deese; and a number of other relatives. Memorial services for Mr. Smith will be held Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, at two o’clock p.m. at the Harvest Time Church of God. Memorialization will be by cremation.
