Homerville, GA Mrs. Joan Jewelane Deese Boyles, 69, passed away, Friday, July 8, 2016, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Boyles was born Dec. 28, 1946, in Homerville, Georgia to the late Rev. Johnny B. Deese and Thelma Starling Deese. She was a Master Cosmetologist and was owner-operator of Joan’s Beauty and Barber Shop. She was a founding and charter member of DuPont Full Gospel Mission and was currently attending the Lovejoy Community Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Boyles, sister, Martha Gail D. Hainley and one nephew, Rev. Johnny Westmoreland. Survivors are one daughter and son-in-law: KJo & Henry Welch, Homerville; one son and friend: Allen Peeples & Robbin James, Homerville; one special son and daughter-in-law: Michael & Rachael Peeples, Valdosta; one sister and brother-in-law: Shelia & Stanley Pittman, Waycross; one brother and sister-in-law: Jerry & Ruby Dell Deese, Homerville; her step-mother: Sara C. Deese, Homerville; two step-sisters: Marcell Tucker, and Evette Vinson, both of Homerville; one step-son: Walter Vinson, Jasper, FL; one brother-in-law: Dorel Hainley, Naylor; 8 grandchildren: Brooklyn & Dustin Burch, Wyatt Welch, Kendall Welch, Heather Peeples & fiancé John Edenfield, Hannah Peeples, Danielle & Willie Lolly, Cody Peeples, Michelle Peeples and Haley Peeples; 2 great grandchildren: Drake Vince and Jordan Lolly; special niece: C. J. Zipperer & fiancé Tommy Jackson, special nephew: Brenton “Peanut” & Helene Westmoreland; three caring & loving friends: Barbara Christopher, Margaret Higbee and Margaret Vinson; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. Boyles will be held Sunday, July 10, 2016, at two o’clock in the Lovejoy Community Church, Lakeland. Interment will be in the North Cemetery, DuPont. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 9, 2016, from 6 to 8 at the Funeral Home. Mrs. Boyles will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services.
