Dephene Griffis Welch Reeves

Mrs. Dephene Griffis Welch Reeves, 73, passed away Tuesday, Apr. 12, 2016, in the Hospice of Satilla, Waycross, surrounded by her loving family, following a short illness. Mrs. Reeves was born October 2, 1942, in Homerville, GA, to the late Horace Griffis & Noley Pittman Griffis. She had worked at the Dollar General Warehouse and was a member of the Fargo Church of God. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Welch and second husband, Danny Wayne Reeves; one son: Marty Dewayne Welch; three sisters: Betty Jean James, Carolyn O’Berry and Linnie Beckham; two brothers: Shelton Griffis and Clinton Griffis. Survivors are one daughter and a son-in-law: Vickie & Marvin Sherrod, Homerville: two sons and daughters-in-law: Marvin & Jane Welch, Homerville and Lamar & Gladys Welch, Sr., Fargo; one sister: Ava Nell Ott, Buford, SC; nine grandchildren: Lamar & Mary Welch, Jr., Marty & Tammilea Welch, Jonathan & Ruby Welch, Courtney & John Steedley, Summer Musgrove, Myrinda Hill, Rebecca Collins, Pamela Harrell and Mikki & Richard Yawn; twenty four great grandchildren; two special nieces: Vivian Cooner and Sylvia Foskey, a number of other nieces & nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. Reeves will be held Saturday, Apr. 16, 2016, at two o’clock in the Fargo Church of God. Interment will be in the Fargo Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, Apr. 15, 2016, from 6 till 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Reeves will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services.
